Basalt, mainly composed of oceanic crust, belongs to basic volcanic rocks. Basalt, due to its strong compressive strength, low crushing value, strong corrosion resistance, and good asphalt adhesion, has been internationally recognized as a better material in the construction of roads, railways, and airport runways. Not only that, basalt is also a high-quality aggregate for lightweight concrete in high-rise buildings. Due to its high porosity and hardness, adding it to concrete can reduce the weight of the concrete without losing its strength. At the same time, it also has advantages such as sound insulation and heat insulation, which are highly favored by major building materials markets.
The processing of basalt is divided into three stages: coarse crushing by jaw crusher, medium and fine crushing by cone crusher, and sand shaping by sand making machine.
Phase 1: Coarse crushing
Large pieces of basalt material are uniformly fed by a vibrating feeder through the material bin, and then transported to a jaw crusher for coarse crushing. The coarse crushed material is screened by a vibrating screen and transported by a belt conveyor to a cone crusher for medium to fine crushing.
Phase 2: Medium to fine crushing
The basalt conveyed to the cone crusher is finely crushed and screened using a circular vibrating screen. Materials larger than or equal to 40mm are returned to the cone crusher for further crushing.
Phase 3: Sand making
Send crushed basalt particles smaller than 40mm into the sand making machine for further crushing and shaping, and materials larger than or equal to 20mm are returned to the sand making machine for further fine crushing. Materials smaller than 20mm are sent to a circular vibrating screen for screening and packaging. If clean basalt is needed, it can be sent to a sand washing machine for cleaning.
