Quartz sand is a non-metallic mineral, which is a hard, wear-resistant, and chemically stable silicate mineral. Its main mineral component is SiO2. Quartz sand is milky white or colorless semi transparent in color, with a hardness of 7. Quartz sand is an important industrial mineral raw material and is not a chemical hazardous material. It is widely used in industries such as glass, casting, ceramics and refractory materials, smelting ferrosilicon, metallurgical flux, metallurgy, construction, chemical industry, plastics, rubber, abrasives, etc. Quartz sand is the main raw material for glass. On the one hand, it has the highest content in glass raw materials, and on the other hand, it plays a significant role in the production of colorless glass. Therefore, the purity of quartz sand (i.e., free from pollutants and impurities) is of special significance. The silicon dioxide content in high-quality glass sand is very high, up to 98.5-99.8%.
The quartz sand production line is composed of main equipment such as a crusher, ball mill, classifier, magnetic separator, flotation machine, thickener, and dryer, which can be combined with a feeder, elevator, and conveyor to form a complete beneficiation production line. This production line has the advantages of high efficiency, low energy consumption, high processing capacity, and economic rationality.
At present, the commonly used specifications for quartz sand in the market include 0.5-1mm, 1-2mm, 2-4mm, 4-8mm, 8-16mm, 16-32mm, 10-20 mesh, 20-40 mesh, 40-80 mesh, 100-120 mesh, etc. The above specifications include finished sand, finished crushed stone, and finished powder. Different specifications require different processing techniques, process design, equipment configuration, etc.
The process of the quartz sand production line is roughly as follows: (silo) → feeder → jaw crusher (optional) → impact crusher or cone crusher → vibrating screen → sand making machine → sand washing machine (optional) → finished sand.
The materials to be processed are first uniformly sent by the vibrating feeder to the jaw crusher for coarse crushing. The coarse crushed materials are conveyed by the conveyor to the impact crusher/cone crusher for further crushing. The medium crushed materials are transported to the vibrating screen for screening, while the smaller ones are transported to the sand making machine for sand making and shaping. The larger ones are returned to the cone crusher for re crushing. The stone sand processed by the sand making machine is the finished sand. If users have high requirements for the quality of finished sand, they can add a sand washing machine to clean the finished sand.
The process of the quartz sand and gravel production line is roughly as follows: (silo) ->vibrating feeder ->(jaw crusher) ->cone crusher ->vibrating screen ->finished crushed stone (several layers of vibrating screen mesh can obtain several types of finished products).
The process of the quartz sand grinding production line is roughly as follows: (silo) ->vibrating feeder ->jaw crusher ->bucket elevator ->electromagnetic vibrating feeder ->quartz sand grinding machine ->finished powder (different fineness powders use different grinding equipment).
